Our Doctors

 Dr N Narra (female)

MRCGP MBBS DRCOG DFSRH CME

Dr Narra has worked alongside Dr Place since 2021. He retired in 2024 after over 30 years service at Ashfield House.
Dr Narra‘s postgraduate training has been in Nottingham. She has background experience in Diabetes, Rheumatology, Women’s Health.
Over the years, she has brought the following to the practice :
– Introduced monthly Diabetic clinics for complex diabetes with the Diabetes Specialist Nurse in 2022.
– Established service for Coils & Implants in 2022.
– Established GP training in 2023, securing funding from our Nottinghamshire ICB to build a new GP clinic room upstairs.
– Expanded the number of appointments in the system for patients by recruitment of our experienced ANPS in 2024.
– Taken over as GP tutor for medical students in 2024, securing funding from Nottingham Medical School to build an additional training room in 2025.
– Active role with our Ashfield South Primary Care Network lobbying for more GP services locally: new to training GPs, additional roles of in-house pharmacists, musculoskeletal practitioners, mental health practitioner.
– Active member with East Midlands Regional Research Delivery Network since 2024 supporting National Research in asthma, diabetes among other areas.
– Worked with the Phoenix Programme to secure funding for additional new to General Practice GP on trailblazer program in 2024.

Dr Narra has served as a Macmillan GP in the past. This has been as a GP facilitator between hospital and general practice.
She continues as a GP appraiser for East Midlands appraising all levels of qualified doctors across Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire. She provides mentorship for GPS.

Dr N Jones (male)

We would like to welcome Dr Jones our salaried GP. Dr Jones started with the practice in October 2024.

Dr Jones enjoys all aspects of general practice.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Regular appointments are available with our Advance Nurse Practitioners who support our Doctors, and are able to see routine Patients on a day to day basis.  They can fully assess Patients and provide prescriptions (although they do not provide Sick Notes). They can arrange referral to Hospital, Xrays and Blood requests etc.  If they believe you need further assessment by a GP they will refer you on.

Our Receptionists

Our receptionists have a difficult and important position helping to keep the practice organised and running smoothly.  They are a vital link between you and other professionals in the practice.  They are there to help you in confidence and if you wish to speak in private please just ask.

Our Nurses

By appointment only for various procedures including vaccination & immunisation, dressings, stitch removal, asthma and diabetic checks. Specialised appointments are available which include weight reduction & dietary advice, cervical smear tests, contraception, hypertension checks and ear syringing. Please ask at reception.

Our HealthCare Assistants

By appointment only for all blood samples, blood pressure, minor dressings, ECG’s, other assessments & procedures and takes information as instructed by your doctor

Our Health Visitors

Is available for general health care advice, especially for expectant mothers and young children. The Health Visitor holds a baby clinic at the Acacia Centre, Acacia Avenue, Annesley Woodhouse the 1st & 3rd Thurs of the month and can be contacted at Selston Health Clinic on 01623 484810.

The District Nurses

Managed by the Primary Care Trust, provide nursing services within the community for patients unable to leave the own home. This includes dressings and injections.

Midwife Team

Provides care and advice for expectant mothers and for the first days after delivery. She works closely with the Doctors, both at the practice ante-natal clinic, visiting patients at home, and where necessary at home deliveries.  Community Midwife Advice Line Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.30pm 01623 676170
